This week the automotive industry descended on the Bavarian capital of Munich, Germany, for IAA Mobility 2023 – one of the biggest automotive tech events of the year. Mobileye was there on the ground to showcase our latest technologies and solutions on the show floor, with demonstration vehicles on the surrounding roadways, and a keynote presentation delivered by Mobileye’s Senior Vice President of Autonomous Vehicles, Johann "JJ" Jungwirth.

JJ is a 25-year veteran of the industry and a leading authority on self-driving cars and the technological advancements required to make autonomous mobility a reality. In his keynote, entitled "The Road to Self-Driving Mobility," JJ outlined Mobileye's established leadership in driver-assistance technologies and the bridge we're building to autonomous vehicles – from hands-off through eyes-off to completely driverless solutions.

"We take an incremental approach" to autonomous mobility, "looking at how these products can build on top of each other," JJ outlined in his presentation. "We have solved the hard problems with Mobileye SuperVision™, our hands-off product. And that's the baseline for our eyes-off and driverless solutions" – Mobileye Chauffeur™ and Mobileye Drive™.

Vehicles equipped with Mobileye Chauffeur, he projected, "will be, probably for many of us, the first time we'll actually experience AV technology in consumer vehicles."
