Mobileye’s award-winning approach to collaboration

Working with OEMs on safety and autonomy is what we do – and the industry is taking notice

Buy or build? That is the question! Automakers contemplate this very question as they consider their path towards equipping advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and automated safety applications in their vehicles. Should their company try its hand at developing these features in-house with their brand or group in mind? Or should it bring in others from the industry who focus on specific solutions for automakers?

With over 25 years of experience in the automotive industry, developing hardware and software, Mobileye can meet carmakers wherever they are on the buy vs. build continuum and support their efforts. We work with the OEMs on providing them with safety platforms and solutions aimed at balancing costs, performance, and time to market without compromising on their brand.

We saw proof of Mobileye’s deep, established relations with OEMs this past July when Volkswagen AG honored CEO Prof. Amnon Shashua on stage in Germany with the prestigious Volkswagen Group Award for 2024. The award is given in ten categories as VW recognizes top suppliers for outstanding partnership-based cooperation, long-standing practiced values, and shared success, with Mobileye winning the award for digitalization.

“We are deeply honored to receive this acknowledgement from Volkswagen AG for our work together toward delivering the future of transportation,” said Prof. Shashua. “It’s a testament to the dedication of our teams and the spirit of innovation in road safety, intelligent driving and autonomous vehicles.”

The Mobileye-VW relationship was also noted by ABI Research. “Through the adoption of Mobileye’s SuperVision and Chauffeur technologies” the market research firm wrote, "Volkswagen AG will be able to equip its premium brands with capabilities such as eyes-off operation, autonomous overtaking, and automated stopping at red light and stop lines, catching up with and, in some ways, exceeding the capabilities of its two primary German competitors.”

Aside from its collaboration with VW, Mobileye was also named an Enabling Technology Leader in the Global Passenger Vehicle ADAS Industry by U.S. consulting firm Frost & Sullivan.

Touching on the matter of car makers buying solutions or developing them themselves, the Frost & Sullivan report reads “The company [Mobileye] strongly emphasizes product personalization, offering off-the shelf, fully co-developed, and hybrid solutions.” The report adds that “Mobileye’s commitment to innovation and creativity enables it to develop technologies that address the full spectrum of advanced mobility for passenger and commercial vehicles, including basic ADAS applications (e.g., automatic braking and blind spot monitoring) and cloud-enhanced L2, L2+, and L3 functionalities.”

These few recent accolades add to an already respectable list of accomplishments Mobileye accumulated over a quarter of a century. They show Mobileye’s commitment to remain a leader in the industry and serve as an example of Mobileye’s spirit of collaborating with its customers.
