Acronyms:

- ACC, Adaptive Cruise Control 
  Enhancement of traditional cruise control using on board sensing to detect vehicles ahead to maintain a set
  distance between the host vehicle and preceding vehicle.

- AFL, Advanced Front Lighting
  Advanced vehicle lighting system which controls the direction or shape of the headlamps to enhance the
  drivers view of the road ahead.

- AWS, Advance Warning System
 
Mobileye's unique aftermarket system, featuring Mobileye processor and algorithms, providing LDW, FCW
  and HMW functions.

 -CIPV, Closest In Path Vehicle
 
The vehicle directly ahead of the host vehicle in the same lane.

- CMOS, Complementary Metal–Oxide–Semiconductor
 
Type of camera imager.

- CWAB, Collision Warning with Auto Brake
 
Volvo's acronym for its DAS system, proving warning and active braking functions.

- DAC, Driver Alert Control
  Volvo's acronym for drowsy driver monitoring.

- DAS, Driver Assistance Systems
  General term for electronic systems in vehicles which support the driver for enhanced comfort or safety.

- FCW, Forward Collision Warning
 
Warning function to alert the driver of possible collision within a specified timeframe

- FOV, Field of View
 
Area visible to the camera.

- HMW, Headway Monitoring & Warning
 
Mobileye's acronym for it's time-gap (headway) monitoring and warning system

- IHC, Intelligent Headlamp Control
 
System of controlling the vehicle headlamps from high-to-low beam / low-to-high beam automatically.

- LDA, Lane Detection Algorithm
  Algorithm for detecting the road lanes and geometry

- LDW, Lane Departure Warning
 
The function of warning the driver in case of unintentional lane departure 
   
- LKAS, Lane Keeping and Support
 
The function of providing a physical interaction with the steering system in case of unintentional lane
  departure

- OEM,  Original Equipment Manufacturer
 
Generic industry term for the vehicle manufacturer

- PD, Pedestrian Detection
 
The function of detecting pedestrians in the environment

- TLC, Time to Lane Crossing
 
Mobileye's unique method of calculating when a LDW alert should be given

- TSR, Traffic Sign Recognition
 
Generic acronym for detection road signs

- TTC, Time To Contact
 
The time remaining until the host vehicle will collide with a preceding vehicle

- VD, Vehicle Detection
 
Generic acronym for detecting vehicles in the environment using sensors

- VGA, Video Graphics Array
 
Reference to a imager resolution (640x480 pixels). The current level of automotive qualified imager.

- VSoC, Vision System on Chip
  Description of a complete processing system on a single micro-processor

- Collision Mitigation
 
The definition of a system defined to avoid accidents or reduce their impact

- EyeQ
 
Mobileye's name for its first generation processor

- EyeQ2
  Mobileye's name for its second generation processor

- SeeQ
  Mobileye's name for its first generation complete vision processing circuit board (contains imager, EyeQ
  processor, memories, and input and outputs devices)

- SeeQ2
 
Mobileye's name for its second generation complete vision processing circuit board (contains imager, EyeQ2
  processor, memories, and input and outputs devices)

- Fusion
  The joining/merging of data from two different types of sensors for increased data robustness

- Radar
  "Radio Detection And Ranging" - a device emitting and remitting microwaves to detect the range, relative
  velocity and angle of objects (vehicles) in the environment (road system). Used for ACC functions

- Laser
  "Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation" – a device using emitted and received light to
  detect the range, and angle of objects (vehicles) in the environment (road system). Used for ACC functions

- Vision-only
  Customer functions running solely from camera input without fusion with any other sensor.
